More "Conspiracy Coincidences"
New Year's Eve was "coincidental" enough , but just hours later two terrorist attacks were also unrelated, supposedly. Just hours apart according to the FBI, terrorist acts are not related, just "coincidental." Given the similarities of the two terrorists attacks, which include: being done on the same day, having rented from the same company, and having both served on the same military base, it's not hard to conclude something doesn't add up when the FBI says the cases are unrelated. "Clark County Sheriff Kevin McMahill noted a number of similarities between Matthew Livelsberger, the Army special forces officer believed to have blown up a Cybertruck in front of the Trump International Hotel in Las Vegas on New Year’s Day, and Shamsud-Din Jabbar, identified by authorities as the man who mowed down revelers on Bourbon Street in New Orleans the same day, killing at least 14 and injuring dozens more." ?(https://lailluminator.com/2025/01/02/las-...
Ravitch says that she thinks it’s the responsibility of the community to support their public schools. She then says normalizing private over public schooling makes people think about themselves rather than everyone. Personally I don’t get that, why would it be a bad thing for someone to look out for their kids best interest? Education is competitive and everyone should have the opportunity to get the best. It doesn’t make sense for someone to pay for insufficient schooling, especially if they receive a private education.

If its the responsibility of the community to support their public schools then she shouldn't have sent her kids to private schools because she sounds like a hypocrite. Her statements could've sounded better if she sent her kids to a public school but it shouldn't be up to the community to support their public schools if the community doesn't like that public school and therefore send their kids to private schools. -Jose
DeletePrivate schools do not hurt public schools, but private schools takes funding from public school districts. From what Rivitch is saying, it seems if that parents choose to enroll their child in a private school, then they’re rejecting or ‘hurting’ their public neighborhood school. If public school districts have a problem with private schools, then they should do something different to make parents come back.
ReplyDeletei don't think parents should spend money on schools their children don't attend to. I get if its neighborhood school but if the school is not doing so well than that's not the parents fault. Public schools need to work on being good enough for parents to fell comfortable for their kids to go there. -iyanah
ReplyDeleteI wouldn’t say that public schools are being harmed by private schools . It shouldn’t be a bad thing to enroll your child in a private school , Especially if your school is failing so any child and freedom of going to any school unless u can’t afford it or something but it depends on the scenario. I don’t think their is a difference for public schools because students pick private schools all the time and public schools still get a lot of students . public schools aren’t always the best environment anyways
ReplyDeleteI do not agree with Diane Ravitch that public school should get all the money and it should not matter what school we choose. She's also hypocritical if she sends her kids to private school. jeff
ReplyDeleteI personally don't think that private schools are hurting public schools. I feel as though people want to go to a school that support their religious beliefs so if the school system can not stand behind a reason as such because of financial gain they should be embarrassed. The students that go to private schools for most of their life then go public I would generally say that they would help improve the school's scores.- Jalen D
ReplyDeleteI think that parents shouldn’t have to spend money on a school that their child does not attend. - manny mullens
ReplyDeleteParents shouldn't have to pay for an education that their child is not receiving. Parents should be able to chose what education their child should get but if they cannot afford to pay for the private schools then they should choose a public school that can be payed for easily. The parents are responsible for payments and other things that involve the child's education should be payed by the parents.

I see now what she is saying. If you take your child out of a public school because its bad you should not stop paying tax to fund that public school because if its so bad you should try to help it and it is not fair that people whose children go to private school should pay less when people who don't even have children pay the full price. However i do not agree with the fact that students should have to stay in a public school whether its doing bad or not. -Lemuel
ReplyDeleteIn my pinion private schools don't hurt public schools , but n fact they do take fundings out of public schools. According to Ravitch she says, that our community is responsible to support our public schools. I feel as if in order for parents to enroll there children in public school instead of private school, they need to step they game up and work harder- amari rumph
ReplyDeleteI think private schools are not hurting public schools. Everyone has a choice to go to any school they want. Everyone has a chance to get the best education.-Malik
ReplyDeleteOne thing is that private schools doesn't really hurt public schools because at the end of the day anyone has a choice of what school they want to go to and that Ravitch said that our community should be helping the public schools, however that doesn't mean private schools hurts public schools. - Josiah
ReplyDeletei think students have a choice regardless of where they live they could either go to private and public school but i just dont think private hurts the public

Deletei wouldn't say that private schools are hurting public schools. alot of private schools get there funding from there tuition and very small percentage from the state. the state/nation mainly focuses on public schools-Christian Dowdy
ReplyDeletei don't agree with her comment because, not all public schools have the best teacher nor do private schools, so just because you go to a certain type of school doesn't mean the teacher are going to be better or worse than public schools onh -shaun goines
ReplyDeleteIn my opinion i don't think that private schools are hurting public schools at all schools teach there students differently and students learn differently some are more effective than others. but people have a choice on where they want to go and where they don't but they are also limited on how far they can choose because public schools are district and private schools don't have any effect on than and some private schools aren't district and have better education. sil
ReplyDeleteI do not think private schools are hurting public schools. From this article it sounds like private schools are taking over public schools. Every parent has the choice of sending their children to public school. - Kyla
ReplyDeleteIn my opinion, private schools are not hurting public schools. I don't believe that all kids have to go to public school. I see where she is coming from but there are many public schools that are good or bad but it is the same for private schools as well. It really depends on the school and if you're child isn't getting the education they need, you shouldn't have to pay for it. Even private school cost more, most of the time it is better in for the outcome. I know some people may not be able to afford it but many private schools have an option for student who live in failing school districts to pay a small amount instead of paying full price. Education matters on the school and if you want you kid to have a good education, you have to sacrifice or make changes in your life to do so. -Jasmine
ReplyDeleteThe concept of private choice and the negative outcomes it has on the community and children make sense. Diane brings up a good point about how the private choice "makes everything about me and not we". I may be wrong, but this article is giving me the impression that public school is a better choice over private school; because of the "private choice" concept. -Jeremiah G
ReplyDeleteI don't see that the private schools are hurting the public schools. School choice should remain because it's not hurting public schools. It's interesting though to see what she has to say about public and school and private school parents paying taxes.-ken parker
ReplyDeleteprivate schools isnt hurting public schools ,beside the kid can choose any school they wanna go to.-Deandre
ReplyDeleteI don't think private schools are hurting public schools. Parents might want their children to go to a private school because they want a better education. Parents taking their children out of public schools should be a wake-up call. Public schools should work harder in their education and their environment. -Kristiana
