Fixing the legal loophole that helped cause Jan. 6 is now what is being championed by Democrats. Why?
Although the media portrayed the debate on January 6 to overturn the election was a "conspiracy theory" if anyone claimed the result could possibly keep Joe Biden from victory, apparently the media is now ready to fess up the opposite is true. The USA Today and NPR are pushing to reform the Electoral Count Act, and Savannah Behrmann was on The Hugh Hewitt radio program to press for reform because Trump could have won, she admits now.

Refusing the results in the states would have left neither Biden nor Trump with the 270 Electoral College votes needed to be the next president. Pence could have invoked the 12th Amendment, which would have left it to the House to elect the president and the Senate to elect the vice president.
The objectors were hoping would happen since Republicans had a majority in 26 of the state delegations, so Trump would have been reelected. Without a majority of electoral college votes, Trump would have won based on having the majority of states controlled by Republicans that would have been the deciding votes.
Without a majority winner, then both chambers would vote as state-by-state delegations, one vote a state in the House for president, and in the Senate, the senators each get one vote for who's vice president, and that would also follow state-by-state.
So stopping the Electoral Count Act from Proceeding kept Joe as President
The Pennsylvania election violated election laws and could easily have been thrown out. Besides that, there were countless stories of corruption in the Philadelphia district. The congressional debate over the integrity of the 2020 election in Pennsylvania and other battleground states ended with lawmakers huddled on the floor of the U.S. House of Representatives during the January 6 chaos. The debate did not resume.

The Oathkeepers, labeled Trump supporters and ‘insurrectionists’, was led by supposedly former, likely current Federal agent(s) to be used for false flag ops such as turning the peaceful January 6th protest against a stolen election into something it wasn’t.
Stewart Rhodes, the man behind the whole thing—a federal agent—working for the Democrats and FBI while Ray Epps is the man the FBI refuses to deny or acknowledge that on January 5th was out telling the crowd that they needed to breach the Capitol the next day, “We need to go inside the Capitol,” to which the crowd of real Trump supporters shouted, “No!,” and began chanting, “Fed!, Fed!, Fed!,” at Ray Epps—and they were correct.
The FBI refuses to answer if the FBI actively encouraged or incited the riots on January 6. Unbelievable with the repeated phrase, "Sir, I can't answer that question."

The FBI admitted January 6 was not an armed insurrection. Now we know the FBI was involved with the chaos, possibly entrapping those involved. We also know Georgia, Arizona, Pennsylvania, Nevada, Wisconsin, and others have switched enough votes or added enough votes illegally to overturn the election.
The Democrat machine had a strong motive to stop the debate. They could have easily lost if Mike Pence would have done what many of his constituents wanted him to do.
