Asians revolt against Wokeness in America's Most Liberal Cities!
Two of America's most woke states are New York and California. San Francisco is America's most liberal city that has recently made it clear woke policies are the ideological breaking point.
"Democrats are becoming increasingly associated with an approach to schooling that seems anti-meritocratic, oriented away from standardized tests, gifted and talented programs and test-in elite schools—all areas where Asian children have excelled." -Ruy Teixeira (liberal journalist)
One of the reasons for the pull to the Democratic party since taking the majority of votes for Bill Clinton was an emphasis on minorites. Weather appointments or favoritism for scholarships via affirmative action, Democrats were gaining Asian votes. According to the Pew Report, Asians, especially Indian and Chinese descendants had an aversion towards emphasizing Christian beliefs from the Republican party.
An Inconvenient Minority by Kenny Xu is the story of the many Asian Americans who are harmed by an ideology that penalizes their success. At first Democrats were pushing minority benefits in academic circles Asians benefited by many capturing minority scholarships that helped immensely with getting into elite colleges. But CRT changes the dynamics for Asians. Now they are at the bottom of the totem pole.
First, in February 2022, was a special city referendum to recall three school board members. It was the first such referendum in decades and all three eligible to be recalled were recalled.
The San Francisco Unified School District is 14.8% White, 6.3% Black, 37.5% Asian or Asian/Pacific Islander, 28.3% Hispanic/Latino, 0.2% American Indian or Alaska Native, and 0.8% Native Hawaiian or other Pacific Islander. But the demographics of the city are 33% Asian, 48% White, and 6% Black. Notice anything? Most Asians stick with government schools, nearly all Black students remain, White students escape.
Although every registered voter received a ballot, the overall turnout was 26 percent. Fired up Asians turnout among the 30,000 people who requested Chinese-language ballots was 37 percent. Most Chinese residents in the city are registered as independents.
Chinese born Professor Lei Zhang, Winston Salem State University
“The ideology, the CRT, I thought, this is very bad because it is the same as in China under Mao,” Lei proclaims. “The only difference is, in China Cultural Revolution it is your status in community, your class, but in CRT it is your identity, your race.” the same revolution led to upwards of 100 million people starving to death or being killed by the government. It's no wonder Chinese-Americans want no part of this CRT mentality.
New York's Chinese
CACAGNY invites members and friends to support campaign to lift the NYC charter cap. CACAGNY has been an outspoken supporter of high-performing charter schools for families who care about rigorous education but haven’t yet fled New York City public schools.
Over the past decade Asian Americans have seen the Ivy league that once valued hard and rewarded hard work begin to discriminate against them. They were once considered a valued minority group to the left- run schools across the country. Now CRT sees them as the privileged, or at least as a board member in San Francisco termed, " House Slaves, " aka Uncle Tom Americans.
What has been attributed to the sudden political interest of Chinese Americans has not only been the discrimination but the destruction of Chinese or Asian owned businesses, police officers, and violent hate crimes against them.
Even Chinese liberals have expressed enthusiasm for President Trump for being so demonstrably tough on China.
