Does Linden-McKinley have a Future Star?

Freshman athletes rarely turn heads as much as Marquis Lucas is at Linden-McKinley Highschool.

Watch Marquis being celebrated in the video below.

Described by one of his teachers as a respectful individual, Marquis Lucas has accumulated at 2.8 great point average while excelling in three sports. This 6 ft 2,  215 lb freshman is not just a one-trick pony.

"I'm proud of Marquis placing 8th in the state in the 215lb weight class after wrestling just the last 3 weeks of this season! He is a freshman who excelled in varsity football and basketball at Linden this year, he has a bright future ahead of him athletically! And more than that, he is humble and hardworking, his character will get him even farther in whatever he does!"-Fellowship of Christian Athletes Director Matthew Dascenzo.

Lucas was a freshman power forward on the basketball team, Marquis that produced some pretty impressive stats.  He averaged over 15 points a game, 10 rebounds, two assists and two and a half steals per game.  He earned a second team All City award that is rarely awarded to a freshman.

Lucas has demonstrated the talent to excel in basketball and he has shown the toughness and strength to be an elite wrestler. Taking a day off from basketball, and participating in his first wrestling meet this academic year, he won the city championship against a 3-year -undefeated champ.

After winning the city championship, he wrestled and qualified for the state tournament. He was the only Columbus City Schools state qualifier that is Ohio's largest district (with over 50,000 students).

But wait!  Lucas is also a phenomenal football player! Simply a physical force unlike any other! A top freshman in the state, according to his football coach.

Ladies and gentleman, Marquis Lucas is putting Linden-McKinley on the map, once again.
