Elon Musk was Right

During an interview with Don Lemon, Elon Musk discussed his support for a thread on X that claimed diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) schemes were endangering medical patients. Lemon told Musk that there was no evidence to support this claim.

Dr. Bernard D. Davis is a professor of bacteriall physiology at Harvard Medical, School in Boston.

Dr. Davis cited an example of a young doctor who was recently awarded an M.D. even though the student had failed five times examinations that are usually prerequisites for the M.D. degree. The school, which was not identified, waived the requirement in granting the degree, Dr. Davis said.

Duke has denied lowering their standards for medical school, but actions and reactions might contradict this denial.

One survey found "faculty members had varied views on DEI, with nearly half of respondents indicating that Duke placed too much or somewhat too much emphasis on it." (The Chronicle)

Conversation

Following our investigation, Duke Medical School has taken down videos in which one of its doctors, Vignesh Raman, admitted to "abandoning ... all sort[s] of metrics" in hiring surgeons for the sake of DEI. Unfortunately for Duke, we saved copies. As aptly put it, DEI puts the lives of your loved ones at risk. We’ve reached out to Duke, Raman, and the North Carolina AG for comment, and are in touch with U.S. Rep. Bishop who intends to ensure the laws here are fully enforced.

The law on this is very clear, and it will be enforced. x.com/DavidLarson83/…

The date was late February of the tweet above from Shapiro. Check out the headlines below...

"The University of North Carolina (UNC) medical school is disbanding its diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) task force without implementing its recommendations, just months after banning DEI statements from admission, hiring, promotion and tenure." (Fox News)

"Specifically, a one standard deviation increase in doctor quality is associated with a 12.2-percentage point decline in a patient’s two-year mortality risk." (https://www.cesifo.org/en/publications/2022/working-paper/does-your-doctor-matter-doctor-quality-and-patient-outcomes)

Conclusion

Elon Musk was right.
