The CDC Lied, so Autism Thrived?
According to this LinkedIn account the man who was silenced in 2014 admitting the data was fudged on the link between autism and vaccines is still working for the CDC. The Trump Administration has the CDC doing an updated study on the correlation.

In 2016, the director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Thomas Frieden, blocked CDC whistleblower Dr. William Thompson from testifying in a medical malpractice lawsuit in Tennessee. The case involved a 16-year-old boy, Yates Hazlehurst, whose attorneys, Bryan Smith and Robert F. Kennedy Jr., alleged that his autism resulted from vaccine injuries sustained in 2001. They sought Thompson’s testimony to address claims of scientific fraud and evidence destruction by senior CDC officials in studies examining the relationship between childhood vaccines—specifically the MMR (measles, mumps, and rubella) vaccine and those containing thimerosal—and autism.
Thompson, a senior CDC scientist with 19 years of experience, had co-authored key studies, including one published in 2004 (Destefano et al.), which the CDC cited to deny a link between vaccines and autism. In August 2014, under federal whistleblower protection, Thompson claimed that he and colleagues were ordered to manipulate and destroy data in that study, which allegedly showed a causal association between the MMR vaccine and autism, particularly in African-American boys and children with isolated autism. He also suggested that thimerosal, a mercury-based preservative, was linked to neurological issues like tics, a feature of autism, contradicting the CDC’s public stance.
The lawsuit aimed to use Thompson’s firsthand account to challenge the integrity of the CDC’s research, which had influenced the National Vaccine Injury Compensation Program (VICP). The VICP, often called the "vaccine court," had denied over 5,000 claims linking vaccines to autism, reportedly relying on the CDC’s allegedly fraudulent data. Tennessee Circuit Court Judge William Acree extended the trial to allow Thompson’s deposition, but Frieden denied the request, stating it would not "substantially promote the objectives of CDC or HHS." Smith and Kennedy planned to appeal the decision in federal court, arguing Thompson was the only source of the original study data.
This incident remains controversial, with no congressional hearings held on Thompson’s allegations by March 14, 2025, and mainstream media coverage limited, possibly due to pharmaceutical influence. The case highlights ongoing debates about vaccine safety, transparency, and legal recourse for alleged vaccine injuries, though definitive evidence of fraud or a vaccine-autism link remains disputed and unproven in broader scientific consensus.
