Simone Biles Body Shames Elite Swimmer

Simone Biles, an attempt to stand up for male "victims" (biological men competing in female sports) went off the rails and became a victimizer.

Olympic gymnast Simone Biles and former NCAA swimmer Riley Gaines recently found themselves at the center of a heated social media exchange, reigniting national debate surrounding the participation of transgender athletes in women’s sports. The clash underscores the broader conversation on physically advantaged biological men participating in female sports.

Dispute Sparked by Minnesota Softball Championship

The controversy began when Riley Gaines criticized Champlin Park High School’s softball team for securing a Minnesota state championship with the help of pitcher Marissa Rothenberger, a transgender athlete. Gaines referred to Rothenberger as “a boy” and mocked the team’s social media post for disabling its comments section.

Simone Biles quickly came to Rothenberger’s defense, calling Gaines “truly sick” and a “sore loser,” and accused her of targeting transgender athletes out of frustration over past defeats. Biles argued that Gaines’ comments constituted bullying, rooted in personal bitterness.

Previous Incident at San Francisco State University

Gaines has been a prominent voice in the debate over transgender participation in women’s sports and has previously faced backlash for her views. During a Turning Point USA event at San Francisco State University, she claimed she was “ambushed” and “physically struck” by trans rights activists. Gaines said she was forced to barricade herself in a classroom for several hours before being escorted out by police. According to CNN, protesters disrupted the event with chants and confrontations, later surrounding Gaines in a hallway.

Personal Attacks and Escalating Rhetoric

The tension between the two athletes intensified with increasingly personal remarks. In one post, Biles stated, “Bully someone your own size, which would ironically be a male,” in a pointed jab at Gaines.

Gaines responded:

“This is actually so disappointing. It’s not my job—or the job of any woman—to figure out how to include men in our spaces. You can uplift men stealing championships in women’s sports with YOUR platform. Men don’t belong in women’s sports, and I say that with my full chest.”

Simone Biles can't relate?

Given the fact that gymnastics for men play to the male strengths and women's gymnastics play to the strengths of female athletes, transgender athletes would be disadvantaged.. in fact a male athlete attempting to do the parallel bar might be frightening experience. The balance beam is an artistic gymnastics event held at the Summer Olympics on which only women compete. Women started competing in and earning medals at apparatus finals in 1952.

Riley Gaines is not exactly the size of a man. She stands 5'9 and weighs 136 pounds. She's more the size of a supermodel, but not close to the average size of a male that competed against her in the NCAA championship.

Some advice for Simone Biles: If you're going to defend victims, you might consider all victims and not just oversize individuals dominating female sports and undermining their value and efforts.
