Is Jesus in the Old Testament?

Many have been taught to believe Jesus Christ it's just a prophet mentioned in the New Testament.  Not many Christians, let alone non-Christians thought to look for Jesus in the Old Testament.

Key verses include Isaiah 7:14 and 53:5, which predict his virgin birth and suffering for sins, Genesis 3:15 regarding the bruising of the serpent's head, Micah 5:2 about his birthplace, and Zechariah 12:10 foretelling his piercing. Other passages describe his lineage (2 Samuel 7:12), his sacrificial role (Exodus 12:21), and his future return (Daniel 7:13-14).

Prophecies about his birth and life

Genesis 3:15: Foretells the "seed of the woman" who would crush the serpent's head, which is interpreted as Jesus defeating Satan.

Isaiah 7:14: Predicts a virgin birth ("a virgin will conceive and give birth to a son").

Isaiah 9:6-7: Describes the child who will be born as a ruler with divine titles: Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, and Prince of Peace.

Micah 5:2: Specifies that the ruler would be born in Bethlehem.

Prophecies about his suffering and death

Psalm 22:16 is a verse where many translations state, "Dogs surround me, a pack of evildoers encircles me; they have pierced my hands and my feet". This verse is considered by many Christians to be a prophecy of Jesus' crucifixion, though some Hebrew scholars and Jewish texts offer a different reading of the original Hebrew that translates the last part as "like a lion my hands and my feet".

Isaiah 53:5-12: Describes the suffering servant who is "pierced for our transgressions" and "crushed for our iniquities" to bear the sins of his people.

Psalm 22:1, 18: Includes the words "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?" and mentions soldiers casting lots for his clothing.

Zechariah 12:10: States, "they will look on me, the one they have pierced".

Prophecies about his role and return

Genesis 22:18: God promises that through Abraham's "offspring all nations on earth will be blessed," interpreted as a promise of salvation through Jesus.

Deuteronomy 18:15: Moses prophesies a prophet like him that God will raise up, which is interpreted as Jesus.

Daniel 7:13-14: Foretells the "Son of Man" receiving an everlasting kingdom.

Christophanies (appearances of Christ before his incarnation)

Genesis 18:1-33: The Lord appears to Abraham in human form.

Exodus 3:2-16: The Angel of the Lord appears to Moses in the burning bush.
