What's the difference?

It's 2023 and we have another case of police officers involved in the death of an individual during an attempted arrest. Tragically Tyree Nichols was killed during an incident with police.   Memphis Police Chief Cerelyn Davis said Wednesday that her officers' treatment of 29-year-old Tyre Nichols, who died three days after a traffic stop, was a "failing of basic humanity." Officer Tatum  has a unique perspective... Shortly after the Derek Chauvin verdict, the CIA Director wrote a memo praising the Derek Chauvin verdict as,"One step forward" in addressing the "Trauma of Racism and Persistent Inequality in Our Nation."  Will there be equivalent outrage for the African-American police officers accused of secondary murder in Memphis? BLM marchers in Memphis are chanting that the police are racist, but all of the officers involved in the arrest and the suspect are black. Only time will tell how reactions from this case will differ.

My Conversation with a Former Buckeye Captain Contrasts Meyer with Day to explain Loss to Georgia

Image
Former National Champion and Captain that played under Jim Tressel, Luke Fickel, and Urban Meyer had a lot to chime in about his observations watching practice with Ryan Day at the helm.   In 2011, the Buckeyes finished 6-7 coached by interim coach Luke Fickell. A year later Urban Meyer flips the team around to undefeated  but NCAA sanctions prohibited them from going to a bowl game. The former captain said the predecessors to Meyer we're X's and O's guys, and Meyer pays others to do that.  The 2014 National Champion and NFL veteran said Meyer is a,  "Motivator that made the Buckeyes believe they could beat the (NFL) Packers."    To contrast Meyer with Day, he used a punt team drill during practice he observed coach Day.  Twice in a row the pints came close to being blocked and coach Day ignored the lack of perfection and said, "Ok guys, next period  ( new set of drills))."  The two-year starting Buckeye captain said when he witne...

If the Buckeyes match LSU's point total

Image
Not too many experts or commentators are giving the Buckeyes a chance.  Las Vegas oddsmakers have them Buckeyes as  6.5 point underdogs to the Georgia Bulldogs on December 31st, the first round of the college football playoffs. Although it is perceived that the Georgia Bulldogs will effectively have home field advantage, don't be surprised if the scarlet and gray show up in huge numbers.  Ohio State fans will travel and are much more raucous than when they are at home.   The best scoring defense Georgia played was Kentucky, which averages 19 points surrendered per game.  Georgia only scored 16, less than the average of Kentucky's opponents.  Ohio State gives up 19 per game as well.  Ohio state has one last five star, one less four star and, one less three star player then Georgia. In other words these teams are about as equal as any two teams could be on paper.  The second highest scoring offense (OSU) against the second best scoring defense ...

Not that the Twitter files have come out (thanks to Elon Musk)  it's hard to claim the collision between the federal government, Democrat politicians, on social media we're used to silence conservative voices is anything but the truth. "People are willing to accept that they lied about Russian collusion, Quid pro quo, Hunter's laptop, Covid 19, Covid vaccines, Ukraine, FTX scam, etc, but somehow it's out of the question to believe they cheated & lied about the 2020 election." -Professor David Clements Zuckerberg told Joe Rogan that the FBI warning prompted Biden laptop story censorship.  It has just been revealed that Anthony Fauci’s daughter worked at Twitter during the pandemic.  The New York Times published in 1976 that The Central Intelligence Agency planned to continue to employ as agents more than 25 journalists or other representatives of American news organizations, according to the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence Activities.  What is their...

Elon Musk Mocks Legacy Media Calling Twitter Dead!

Image
The caption says it all and  Elon Musk has the platform to call it out.  Here's what we know. The Reuters Institute for the Study of Journalism’s found trust in the media has improved in a number of nations and globally, except in the United States.  Interest in news has fallen sharply in the United States following the "most secure election ever" or the election of President Biden, especially with right-leaning groups. The Reuters report found the already untrusted legacy media loss another 11 percentage points in interest to watch in the United States, to 55 per Finland, who have billboards poking fun of the lack of effectiveness of masks, remains the country with the highest levels of overall trust (65%), and the USA now has the lowest levels (29%) in the survey. Why do Fins trust the media? True their media is not so polarized. but, is that the goal of society to be in unison on all issues?  Is the trust for the wrong reasons?   One explanation for Finl...
