Brian Hartline's Deja Vu 13 years Later could be a blessing in disguise?

Miami Dolphin fans are probably believing they are witnessing a Hollywood remake, The Brian Hartline story.

In July of 2010

Brian Hartline's vehicle ran off the road and hit the parked car at 4:30 a.m. on interstate 95 in Florida. The incident was not reported to the police.

Hartline's Ford Truck hit a Cadillac Escalade at 4:30 It has not confirmed if Hartline was driving the Truck, but he was the registered owner.

When the Florida Highway Patrol called Hartline's home, he was nowhere to be found.

At the time of the incident Hartline was hitting a high note.  Only a fourth-round pick out of Ohio State two years before this accident, Hartline was impressive with over 16 yards-per-catch average. and ranked second in the league in first down receptions.

Brian Hartline did bounce back from what appeared to be an alcohol-related incident and continued  as a very productive receiver for the Dolphins for 4 years including the year of the incident.

Fast forward to April 2023

Once again Brian Hartline is on top of the football world! ESPN lists Ohio State wide receivers coach Brian Hartline as No. 1 recruiter in the country and 24/7 Sports has Hartline as one of the top 10 assistant coaches.

The relatively new and experience coach, my source says was offered and offensive coordinator job from the University of Kentucky, and almost immediately following accepted the offensive coordinator job from Ryan Day and Ohio State, which he quickly accepted.

And 13 years later, an alcohol related event strikes again.

Once again Hartline could not be interviewed by the authorities.  This time the reason was exceptionally legitimate-he was unconscious due to the medication he had been administered at the hospital.

Buckeye fans might have got a break.  Hartline will probably come back strong from this incident just like we did 13 years.  And with the tarnished reputation, he might cost himself elite head coaching opportunities that might have pulled him away from the Buckeye faithful..
